Association Internationale des Maires Francophones

AIMF is a worldwide network of French-speaking local elected representatives.
Together, they nourish the vision of the city of tomorrow with sustainable and shared growth, that places people at the heart of the urban project. They are developing a new form of cooperation that combines joint reflection at the highest level and action on the ground that gives priority to innovation and local expertise.

Founded in 1979 around a certain idea of cities that share the French language, the AIMF evolved at the same time as the status, scope of intervention and political leadership of local authorities changed. For more than 30 years, the privileged space of exchange and solidarity that it offers to mayors of French-speaking metropolises has accompanied changes in the local world and international solidarity between cities.
